The LucidWake: Unveiling 'WHITEOUT' - A Rock Odyssey

In the bustling world of music, where every note is a brushstroke on the canvas of sound, emerges a band that defies clichés and masters the art of musical storytelling. Meet The LucidWake, a Bangalore-based rock band that's poised to shake your senses with their unique blend of hard rock and psychedelic-ambient elements. Led by Vihaa on lead vocals and lyrics, Slow Jim on guitars, and Viz on guitars, this musical trio has been on an exhilarating journey since their formation in 2018.

Their latest release, "Don't Stop," is the first single from their EP titled "WHITEOUT," which dropped on digital platforms on August 25, 2023, and is set to unveil its mesmerizing music video on VEVO on September 8, 2023.

"WHITEOUT" isn't just an EP; it's a testament to The LucidWake's commitment to pushing the boundaries of rock. This musical journey began with the band's founders, Jim and Vihaa, who, since the band's inception, have been crafting original music that delves deep into the realms of emotion, reflection, inspiration, and existence. This creative collision eventually led to the birth of "WHITEOUT," a 4-track EP featuring "Don't Stop," "Bleed," "Root N Ash," and "Through Mars."

The EP was meticulously recorded and produced in a span of two years post-Covid, under the guidance of sound producer Akash Shivakumar, who also handled the mixing. The mastering was masterfully executed by Vivek Thomas at VTS Studios. The LucidWake is not just about music; they're visionaries in their own right. They played pivotal roles as production designers and co-directors in the "Don't Stop" music video, collaborating with talented artists and industry professionals to bring their creative vision to life.

So, what's the story behind "WHITEOUT"? It's a tale of collaboration and creativity, where Vihaa and Jim penned down songs that resonate with profound themes. "Root N Ash" narrates the life of a tree through a forest fire, symbolizing resilience and rebirth. "Don't Stop" encourages us to battle our inner demons while pursuing our dreams relentlessly. "Bleed" takes us through a chilling blizzard on a faithless night, central to the EP's theme. Finally, "Through Mars" invites us to find our light and purpose in an uncertain existence.

The LucidWake's sound is a captivating blend of melodies, riffs, and thought-provoking lyrics, drawing inspiration from rock legends like Deep Purple, Tool, Porcupine Tree, and Rival Sons. Their music transcends genres, immersing listeners in a lucid state that awakens the senses.

The band's artistic journey has been a carnival of creativity and persistence, mirroring their favorite words - rebellious, persistent, kingdom, and art. Their favorite quote, "Nobody wants to die, but they know they're gonna have to. Silver and gold, people you know, ain't nothing gonna save you," encapsulates the raw essence of their music.

As Millennials in their early thirties, The LucidWake calls Bangalore, India, their home. Their career highlights include recording and producing their own music video, a feat that has boosted their morale. Their electrifying live performances at venues like Fandom, Take 5, Blue Frog, and Straight Up have left audiences craving more.

Looking ahead, The LucidWake dreams of touring with Indian artists like Mocaine, Nemophilis, Corner Cafe Chronicles, and international rock sensations like Rival Sons, Monster Truck, and Goodbye June.

In a world where music often treads familiar paths, The LucidWake stands as a testament to the power of creative rebellion and musical exploration. "WHITEOUT" is not just an EP; it's a carnival of rock awakening, an invitation to experience the uncharted territories of sound and emotion crafted by these musical visionaries. So, brace yourselves for The LucidWake's sonic journey because this is one carnival you won't want to miss.
