David Britto collaborates with The Lightyears Explode on his latest release "Hello Cheater"

An artist, a music journalist, and the mind behind a podcast show, David Britto started off by playing bass for the Bombay blues band, The Tripp, where he got to play around clubs all over India. That soon became playing at music festivals like Bacardi NH7 Weekender and Sula fest. It was after this that he took on a collaborative project called Arrows in 2018 where he invites guest vocalists to feature in his songs. He started off by releasing music in 2019 and has worked with artists like Vernon Noronha, Siddharth Basrur and Raghav Meattle.

Besides making music, he is also a music journalist for the Indian music scene and he is a writer for Rolling Stone India. Along with all of that going on for him, he still finds time to run a podcast series called "My First Record" where he gets to talk to artists about their journey in the Indie scene.

On May 13th, 2022 he released his fourth single called "Hello Cheater" featuring The Lightyears Explode. In this track, David is expressing an incident that took place in his life where he was left hurt by a person he cared for. He told us "Although it’s taken years to heal the scars, this song was a way to cope with it and come out on the other side stronger than before.” The track has an explosive garage rock vibe to it, with raw layers of distortion guitars over an earth-shaking kick drum rhythm.

We asked him how it was to work with The Lightyears Explode, to which David Britto said, “I’ve been a fan of The Lightyears Explode for 10 years, the guys are heroes of mine. So, when they agreed to work on this song with me I was ecstatic, and really honored that they said yes. Working with them was a breeze and they definitely helped capture the sound and feel of the song, I’d totally work with them again in a heartbeat.”

We cannot wait to see who David Collaborates with next and what is in store for him.
