This track is an entire emotional journey you need to plug into. What started as a student experiment eight years ago has absolutely exploded into a magnificent, rooted piece of Indian Fusion. Isha Maheshwary, the Hindustani classical and Western contemporary powerhouse, has dropped her latest single, 'PIYA' (October 12th), and it is an exquisite ode to longing that bridges two continents and nearly a decade of her creative life.

Isha first conceived and recorded 'PIYA' while studying in Los Angeles. Being thousands of miles from "Ghar" (one of her five favorite words) meant dealing with serious separation and yearning. She poured all that raw emotion into the song, initially "just for the thrill of it." Years later, when she revisited it, that same spark was still burning, leading her to reimagine the acoustic LA version into a fully rooted, fusion banger with the delicate tones of Sitar (Soumendra Goswami) and Tabla (Ishan Sharma), backed by modern Western arrangements.

The final studio track is a masterclass in balance. The recording process, handled at Trifecta Studios in New Delhi, took a few weeks because Isha wanted the track time to "breathe and evolve," meticulously blending the contemporary elements with the Indian classical instruments.

Isha's story is defined by the word "Emergence"—the natural unfolding of purpose. She didn't just stumble into music; she chose to pursue it professionally after graduation, diving deep into composition, performance (with over 10 years experience!), and vocal coaching. Today, her sound is all about fusion, constantly experimenting and evolving with the best in the business, pulling influence from titans like A.R. Rahman, Amit Trivedi, and Aretha Franklin.

This 33-year-old New Delhi native is grounded in ritual: her day starts with a brisk walk, gathering her thoughts, followed by her essential Morning Tea Ritual. After breakfast, she hits her practice space, and that’s when she feels the day truly come alive. 'PIYA' is a track that proves the most powerful, lasting emotions are always the ones worth perfecting.

'PIYA' is streaming NOW. Go experience this stunning Indian Fusion track!
