This week, we're diving into a pair of phenomenal Indian artists: DeepBlue Seas is hitting us with a cinematic rock trip down memory lane, while ARYSE is proving that genre-bending music can be born right on an iPhone XR. Get your headphones ready!

1. DeepBlue Seas: Bitter Sweet Youth

Get ready for an emotional 4 minutes and 8 seconds! Mumbai’s DeepBlue Seas (Spotify), established way back in 2014, has dropped their new single, “Bitter Sweet Youth,” on May 9th, 2025. This isn't just another track; it’s a soul-stirring blend of Indie Rock and Alt Rock spiced with Prog/Post Rock complexity. The song’s core theme? That universal ache of missing your childhood innocence while wrestling with adult life. As DeepBlue Seas puts it, the song is "both sweet and painful."

The music itself is massive. It blends modern indie-pop swagger with a cinematic, soulful edge, all thanks to the powerhouse team: DeepBlue Seas handling the writing and mixing, Anirudh Rao smashing the drums, and Venugopal adding those rich, beautiful layers. Distributed by No Binary Records, this track is a deep dive into memory and melody. Ready to feel all the feels? Check out the visuals and follow DeepBlue Seas on Instagram and their YouTube channel!

2. ARYSE: Another Day

From Mangalore, Karnataka, meet ARYSE (Spotify), the experimental genius who embodies DIY spirit! Active since 2020, ARYSE started making music by teaching themselves production entirely on GarageBand using an iPhone XR during the pandemic—now that's dedication. This is where the magic of Bedroom-pop, experimental, and RnB blends into a sound that's entirely his own. ARYSE draws inspiration from raw, shared experiences, constantly striving to inject new, fresh elements into every song.

His standout track, “Another Day,” released on March 24th, 2024, is a beautiful example of vulnerability in music. While it sounds like a perfect long-distance anthem, its true depth lies in capturing the profound feeling of emotional disconnection within a physically close relationship—that "weird feeling where you’re close yet not really connected." This highly personal track turns that emotional restlessness into captivating sound, chronicling the shortened talks and the heavy silences. Join the ARYSE movement by following him on Instagram and subscribing to his incredible YouTube channel!
