RATTLESNAKES isn't just a Hard Rock band; they are an emotional reckoning. This Delhi-based quartet has just unleashed their latest single, 'Hey Mother', a searing track that perfectly captures the band’s signature blend of high-octane Metal energy with raw, vulnerable lyricism.
'Hey Mother' was born in a moment when profound loneliness was the only constant. The song confronts the difficult reality of feeling completely unseen and unheard, yet it ultimately finds a powerful sense of peace within that emotional chaos. The band, featuring Ali Nawaz (Vocals), Sukrit Saraswat (Guitar), Saksham Kathuria (Bass), and Dhanish Chugh (Drums), composed the core structure in a lightning-fast, hour-long jam. However, the recorded version went through brutal cycles of production refinement, ensuring the intense, honest emotion felt truly "alive" before release.
The band’s chemistry is built on complex layers of shared history. The foundation lies with Sukrit and Dhanish, who met in school; this bond expanded to include Ali, who was Dhanish's college roommate, and finally Saksham, who joined after a previous musical collaboration. This unique mix of history and creative coincidence shaped an intense sound that instantly connected them from the very first riff. Defined by the word "Reckoning," RATTLESNAKES uses their music to tell hard-hitting stories.
Their influences are a powerful guide to their sound. They pull inspiration from the intricate depth of progressive rock giants like Karnivool and the emotional intensity of Linkin Park, alongside the raw, driving rock energy of Guns N’ Roses and Nothing But Thieves. This varied creative input ensures that each track carries unique elements brought by every band member.
The process of bringing this intense vision to life resulted in some highly chaotic studio sessions. The drums were captured using an e-kit at Dhanish's home, while guitars, bass, and vocals were meticulously recorded at Tiny Room Studios and The Dwarka Studio. Even this detailed approach hit a bizarre snag: "While recording the guitars and bass for this track, we got heavily sidelined for two hours trying to remove a guest lizard in the studio."
Regardless of the chaotic studio detour, the band's dedication to emotional honesty shines through. Their focus on authenticity is best summed up by their surprising choice for a favorite instrument: The Larynx. This dedication to the core voice underscores the narrative depth they pursue.
For RATTLESNAKES, 'Hey Mother' is the culmination of four men gathering to tell a few hard-hitting stories in the way they know best, prioritizing emotion and honesty above all else.
